Dear Family and Friends,
This week has been the most amazing so far, and again like I keep saying, the weeks fly by! There's a saying here "days feel like years, weeks feel like a day, months feel like a minute, years like a second" I feel like this is exactly the way my mission is like. At this rate I should be home in 2 seconds!
The schedule has stayed the same. I've been working really hard on the language and I fell like I'm getting the basic gist of it now ( I can now pray completely in Tagalog, write mostly in Tagalog, and teach a solid lesson with only a dictionary and some notes). Yesterday we tried something new, go an entire day without speaking english until 9:30. It was really hard especially when your trying to have a debate on whether or not tractor parades would be fun (this was an actual conversation, and yes, I think a good tractor parade would be cool). Although we sound no where close to fluent yet, it really helped. Now I'm telling myself that I wont speak english every day while I'm here, might as well considering I won't be speaking English in the Philippines...
Thursday was interesting, every week we have one day where we have an hour scheduled as "Personal Fitness Time", normally we have "gym time" for an hour every day but this is different, for "Personal Fitness Time" we cannot use any gyms, so we head back to residence. I usually run up and down the stairs for 15 minutes, then take a nap like everyone else. But this thursday was different, I decided to make an MTC sauna (yes you heard it right, a steam room). Here at the MTC, the water is supplied straight from Mordor, it is so hot that we don't complain not having enough hot water, but complain when there isn't enough cold water. I then went about getting extra sheets and blocked off the shower area (which has 6 small stalls each with a shower head). I then turned all the showers on their hottest, and let them steam up the room for 5 minutes. It worked by some freak of nature, and it was very relaxing to stand in, although by 3 minutes the other Elders started to stink it up a bit. There will now be a sauna every time I can make it!
Like usual there will be pictures put up later today!
Love you all so much!
