Before I go into our Sermon on the Court thing, I first want to say that this week has been great! It has rained every day so far, but its been refreshing! Been continuing the trekking through mud and whatnot, but its been worth for all the great people we talk to on a daily basis!
So on Friday we had a choir practice for Branch conference. And we noticed a large group of guys playing basketball outside (20ish). So Elder Sapaden and I decided to open our mouths and talk to all of them. We gathered them all together and shared with them a short message about the restoration. So far we haven't heard word from any of them, but we were happy to at least give them a chance to hearing the gospel. As we taught the other elders in the branch joined with us and also shared. It was a little scary, but the Spirit really took over. When we look back at it we call it "the Sermon on the Court".
This week we also had our farewell for our mission president and his wife. It was bittersweet, but something we all left happy about. I will always remember my favorite quote from him "Pride wins arguments, Disciples save souls". He has been a huge help to me see and lose my pride (not to say that I am done, I'm still working on it).
This week we got a new neighbor... one I'm not to happy about. the people use dogs as security to their houses, which is fine. But this dog outside our house is new and barks when the wind blows. But we found it gets really shy when its sees me. So now when it barks, they send me outside to look at it for a couple seconds to keep it quiet. Kinda funny because it runs and tries to hide behind this tiny bush.
All in all, this week was great! I love the people hear. They have so many perks, and they are so happy! I love you all!
Till next week,
Elder Trevor Kent Johnson (TWMYK)
