Dear Friends and Family,
This week marked the end of Elections and things went smoothly, our new president is President Rody Duerte "The Iron Fist"
My new companion is Elder Jensen (Mission president thought it was funny putting Johnson and Jensen together, it has confused a lot of people so far haha). He is from Washington, and he is my first Companion that is not Philipino, its weird! We have started a collection of campaign posters on our wall, it will our legacy when we get transferred.
This week we had a miracle, and it wasn't until after it happened that I noticed what had happened. We have a sister who was an investigator for 8 months before my last companion and I had to move on. This week we decided to visit her family (they are members) and we ended up teaching her again. We felt impressed to ask he why she didn't want to be baptized. She told us that she was unsure if she really should change her religion, and always turned down the invitation when we invited her. Then we made a promise with her that if she went to church, she would receive an answer what she should do. Fast forward to yesterday and when we come to church we find that my mission president and his wife are there! In Sunday school, my mission president's wife bore her testimony of when she was converted from being a catholic. Her story and our investigator's concern where almost exactly the same. I know that Heavenly Father sent Sister Deyro to our investigator, and because of that visit, our investigator will be baptized in June!
Now, does Heavenly always answer prayers in that way? no, but he always answers in some way. He may wait first, He may say "no", but His answer will be what we need, when we need it.
Things are getting hotter still, in fact some of our neighbors are losing their goats and chickens, don't worry though, we are perfectly healthy and safe! Can't wait for rainy season though!
Mahal ko kayo lahat!
