Dear Family and Friends,
This week has been a week of miracles. There really is no other way to describe it. As a district we have started to pray for each other by name every morning and night, and I believe as the others do, that we all received divine help in each of our areas and as well in our personal challenges. We also start to pray for our investigators by name as a district, and again we saw lives change this week, hearts open, and people blessed. It has really been a blessing of me to see how all these things go together. At the end of the week I could hear a voice saying "I heard, and I answered".
In my minds eye there is an "order of power" when it comes to receiving help in our lives. I used to view prayer as the "least I could do", followed by fasting, going to the temple, and receiving a priesthood blessing as things that yielded "more" results. But now I see these things as a list of different tools, not just "bigger guns". Each of these things has a purpose and if we focus on the quantitative, we forget that this gospel is about the qualitative. Prayer has been a chance to get unity in my life. ITs been a way to unite spirits when it running low, bring together enemies when a fault separates them. Prayer has blessed our district be giving each other our faith and trust that we will do the right thing, and that the right thing will happen because of our efforts. I am a strong believer that "for everything there is a purpose under the heaven".
Things here in Asingan are starting to warm up, we have hit a solid 95 degrees every day, helping us get into the Christmas spirit. we are all enjoying the magic of peanut butter at the moment, as we as a whole have finished off almost 10 jars of the stuff this week alone (that may be a stretch, but we do eat a lot). We have a rat that lives in our attic. And we are also noticing a lot of lizards in our house. I kid you not, they are everywhere, I found one under my books, in a sock, in my shoe, behind our chairs, in the sink, everywhere we look, there is a lizard, its great!
But all is well here in Asingan! I hope you know that I love you all! Have a great week!
Mahal ko kayo!
