Dear Family and Friends,
This week I have oficially mastered the art of unlocking a dead bolt, opening a latch, and unhooking a door chain with a bamboo stick. The story? We still haven't found the key to our house and locked ourselves out. what we have to do is open the windows and slowly open everything. At first it took me 10 mins, now I'm down to 3, pretty cool, I know, please save the fan mail till after the mission! Haha
Have you ever thought that prayer is preparation for the life after this? Kinda a weird thought, but when you think about it, we believe that prayer is communication with God, so is ok to say that prayer is practice when we get to talk to our Heavenly Father again? I've noticed this week that sometimes we dread prayer. We have all had that time when we try to get out of saying the prayer, or avoid eye contact so someone won't call on you. But if we can't learn to enjoy talking to our Heavenly Father here, how can we possibly learn to enjoy it in the next life? In our church, prayer is sacred and a personal act. It is a way for us to express our inner most fears and feelings, and in return recieve precious insight from out loving Father in Heaven. When we pray, does it feel that way? Or do we feel like we are saying fancy words to impress the people hearing? I tried it out, praying as if Heavenly Father is in front of me, and it works, you feel good, you feel close. Enjoying prayer is the first step we take to developing our relationship with God. From those personal hours, we pull eternities worth of blessings, so take advantage of it!
I love all of you! Thank you so much for writing me! I love hearing about your lives and can't wait to see you in 7 months!
Mahal ko kayo!
