Congratulations on your calling as a Missionary Trainer! It is wonderful to me to see the effort you have put into your own development so that you have qualified yourself for this very important stewardship. You will have many opportunities for Church service, but none will demand any greater example of worthiness, faithfulness, leadership or love than training a new missionary. My prayers are with you that you will understand the importance of your stewardship.
Your example is the greatest teacher to your companion. Provide a Preach My Gospel example including following mission rules with exactness, reading the Handbook every day, and studying, and praying according to the established schedule. Be diligent in adhering to the proselyting schedule and do all things necessary to provide a foundation of lifelong faithfulness for this new servant of the Lord. You will now be constantly observed by someone who needs your strength and leadership. Most importantly, show love and patience. Thank you for doing your best.
You are well aware of the need for your new companion to learn the different lessons. Be faithful in helping this new missionary to study and work hard, practice and build confidence. Building confidence is not a race. It happens one step at a time. Always invite the spirit into your companionship.
I urge you to have good planning and evaluation every night. Strive for open, thoughtful communication. Ask questions often and listen carefully. Be loving. Be patient. Be diligent in these things and you will be blessed beyond measure.
You are a fine missionary! I love you and pray for your success in this new responsibility.
Sincerely,
