Dear Family and Friends,
This week has been full of "new things". Of course the biggest change was getting transferred to a new zone! I am currently serving now in Calasio zone, working in Malasiqui (Mah- lah-see-kee) 1st branch! The people here are great and I received a very warm welcome. One thing I have had to adjust to is water for showers, the water here doesn't work until the evening hours, so if you want to take a shower in the mornings, you have to fill up your bucket at night. I have also picked up a new hobbie! My new companion, Elder Tomas (he is also Filipino), has a knack for taking care of spiders. I was really scared at first, but now I am perfectly comfortable with a spider crawling on my hands. In fact we have 3 pet spiders that we keep in a match box! Elder Tomas is great! he is way funny, and loves to get to work. He does a great job of teaching in a way that helps the investigator understand. He has also helped me with the language a lot. Speaking of languages, I now study Pangasinan (the dialect in Malasiqui), and so I now speak Tagalog, broken Ilacano, and now I'm trying to pick up Pangasinan. So wish me the best of luck! I also had the chance to baptize a young man on saturday in Malasiqui, it was way cool to see how happy and excited he was to be a member. That same day we had 3 others! I am set for a good stay here!
So I thought today I would share with you my testimony in Tagalog just for fun, so here it goes:
So that's it! I hope you enjoyed it! I checked it with my companion and he says "its mostly correct" and gave me a high five. I'm not sure what that means, but hopefully you can use google translate! haha
I love you all! Have a great week! See you in 1.5!
