Well I apologize if my spelling in this letter, or the way I write this letter is a little out of wack, last night I hard a hard time staying asleep, here are the reasons why:
1:00- The neighborhood cats decided to start "Kitty Fight Club".
1:30- Woke up spooked, thinking that someone was giving me a foot massage, turns out it was only my flip flops.
2:30- (I don't remember this, but this is my companion's account) "You woke me up saying 'You left your car on, want me to turn it off? I know where the keys are' and then I told you to go back to sleep"
4:30- Heard something fall on the stairs, really creeped me out, turns out it was only a poster falling off the wall
6:25- Body decided that I didn't need 5 mins of extra sleep, so it woke me up.
This has never happened, I sleep very well here on most days, but last night was a battle, always an adventure, even while you sleep!
This week at church was reallt insightful to me. I was asked to give a quick spiritual thought before one of our meetings, and felt prompted to share about the temple that is coming soon. From news spreading we found out that the temple will most likely be built where the church is now. I shared that the place that we were standing on could one day be a Celestial Room, or a Font, and that the Lord is hastening His work in Urdaneta. I had overheard comments before like "Oh the temple will never come at this rate" or "Its going to take forever", but as we thought for a moment of what was going to happen here, our thoughts changed from "How long do we have to wait?" to "What can we do to help the Lord's house get here?" This is a simple example of how having hope can give us direction, and also energy to get things done, and to make things happen. "Hope is the anchor of our souls" and it is also the fuel of our souls, its what gives Faith its "umph". Without hope, faith is useless and unstable. Hope is a fundamental characteristic that every Saint needs to progress. For me, hope is the trust that even though you may never know God's plan for you, that He knows, and he cares.
I hope everything is going smoothly for everyone back at home!
