Dear Family and Friends,
This week I have decided to conquer Isaiah. I've started over twice and I generally have to spend 30 mins a chapter. But its great, if you spend time on it, you'll see the reason why prophets and Jesus Christ have told us to read Isaiah's words.
We got locked out of our house yesterday, and through missionary ingenuity we were able to unlock it with bamboo sticks, a screwdriver, and a lot of patience. Lesson learned, keys are a lot easier, keep track of them!
Today when I was reading Isaiah (chapter 1) I found an interesting part in which the Lord says he hates vain sacrifices. There are a lot ways to describe a vain sacrifice, but to me I like to say its "doing something, just to say you did something". Since the beginning of my mission I have seen that the times in which I'm happier, are the times when I do things for a reason. I see this in other missionaries, the successful ones, the happy ones, are the ones who gave their hearts, not just 2 years, to the Lord. Can you remember times when a parent told you to clean your room? I'm guessing you weren't to happy, and so when you did it, it wasn't done to well, right? We all probably went to our parents after and say "I cleaned my room, happy?" and left without a second thought. The same applies to life and following the commandments. What will we say when we finish this life? Will we say "I lived my life, happy?" or will we tell our Heavenly Father thank you for the chance we had to live, and for the opportunity to come closer and return to him. The difference between a life-at-par, and a full one, is how much we give, how much we let go, how much we love. Life, like a mission, isn't just a number of years, but a measure of heart, and love.
Love you all so much! Let me know what's happening!
Mahal ko kayo!
