Dear Friends and Family,
This week actually cooled down a bit for us! But like I said before, I miss a good farm breeze! The people here are the best ever, and we have had plenty of fun talking to them and and teaching them.
This week we also had a General Authority come and visit. It was Elder Bowen of the Seventy. He first came to talk to all the zone leaders, and it was really insightful as he talked about what we should do to be better leaders. He first emphasized that we have to first know who we are, and then show that to other people.
This week I learned that both my companions are transferring, and I actually said goodbye to one of them this morning, it was rough, but I'll see him soon for sure! I also learned that I will be staying in Urdaneta for another 6 weeks, and I am way happy about it!
This week I was continuing my reading in the Old Testament, and I came to the Book of Jonah. we all know the story of Jonah getting swallowed by a whale, but there was one story that I wasn't aware of, the story of Jonah and the Gourd. I will let you read it, but I learned how often we worry too much about things we cannot control. Like Jonah we sometimes spend too much time focusing on what happened, instead what we will do. The Lord is in the Storm and in the Sunlight, but Satan wants us to focus on the grey of the cloud, and the heat of the sun, instead of the rain clouds bring, and the light the sun gives. Whether we like or not the sun will rise, and set, but our choice is what we do with it. To every night is a dawn, but if we spend time waiting for the dawn to come, we will miss the stars that can only be seen at night. Look for the good in everything, its a thing everyone says, but few actually do consistently, but the people who do this are never depressed.
I want to also leave a shoutout to all the Moms who have helped me be the person I am today, and I especially want to say thank to my Momma, who has blessed my life in so many ways its impossible to count. Thank God for Moms! I love you Momma!
Well that's my update for the week! I'll talk to you next week!
Mahal ko kayo lahat!
